How Top Shelf works
Top Shelf is a pay-to-rank leaderboard for physical products. Rank is decided by the size of the bid and nothing else. The answers below are complete on their own, so each one can be read in isolation.
What is Top Shelf?
Top Shelf is a public leaderboard for physical products where rank is bought, not earned. Brands and makers place real-money bids on a category shelf, and the product with the highest total bid sits at #1. There are no reviews, editors, or ranking algorithms.
How does bidding work?
Bids are whole dollars with a $1 minimum. To take a spot you must bid at least $1 more than the product currently holding it. Bidding less than the leader still puts you on the board at whatever rank that amount earns. Bidding again on the same product link raises your existing total, and you only pay the difference.
Is this real money?
Yes. Every bid is a real payment, and the amount shown next to a product is the actual total that has been paid to hold that position.
Can bids be refunded?
No. All bids are final and non-refundable. A rank can be taken from you at any time by someone who bids more, and that does not entitle you to a refund.
How do I get my product listed?
Paste your product link on the Top Shelf homepage, pick a category, and pay your bid. The listing appears on the leaderboard immediately at the rank your bid earns. After paying you can unlock an account to edit the listing name, photos, and a discount code.
Which links are allowed?
Only direct links to the product on the seller's or brand's own website. Marketplace, reseller, dropshipper, and affiliate links (Amazon, Etsy, eBay, Walmart, AliExpress, Temu and similar) are blocked automatically.
How is a duplicate listing prevented?
Listings are keyed by the normalized URL path, ignoring tracking query strings, so the same product always maps to a single listing instead of splitting into duplicates.
